Job Summary

A charitable organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the local history, Heritage Abbotsford is seeking a passionate and dynamic student to take the lead on an exciting research opportunity. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will research IBPOC familial relationships and conduct oral history interviews for inclusion in the Society’s upcoming exhibits and public programming. The Society will offer training through scheduled workshops as well as on-the -job training.


Candidate: The role is ideal for a student with excellent communication skills, and an interest in storytelling and curatorial work. They will be comfortable working unsupervised but also be able to accept and incorporate feedback from the museum team. Finally, the successful candidate will have a genuine passion for history, especially the Fraser Valley’s BIPOC past, traditions and stories.


Note: The role requires travel as part of the assigned duties, so access to transportation is vital
