Job Summary

A charitable organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the local history, Heritage Abbotsford is seeking a passionate and dynamic student to take the lead on an exciting research opportunity. Reporting to the Collections Manager, you will research and write an academic paper outlining local BIPOC labour history and displacement of labour. This work will directly influence an upcoming digital exhibition hosted by the organization.


Candidate: The role is ideal for a student with excellent communication skills and who can both research and write at a high academic level while adhering to strict citation guidelines. They will be comfortable working unsupervised but also be able to accept and incorporate feedback from the Collections Manager. Finally, the successful candidate will have a genuine passion for archival studies/history, especially the Fraser Valley’s BIPOC past, traditions and stories.


Note: This is a hybrid opportunity. The role requires travel as part of the research duties, so access to transportation is vital.
