Job Summary
This practicum opportunity offers students the chance to develop professional communications content for a not-for-profit organization. Under the direction of the Communications and Fundraising Specialist, students will have the opportunity to contribute to a range of communications projects, including social media management, content creation, website updates, event planning support, and professional writing.
Students will be encouraged to use creative skills to produce content that that highlights our programs, promotes community service initiatives, and supports employment and educational opportunities. The practicum will also involve drafting blog posts, social media content, and other communications materials for both internal and external audiences, including community partners, media, and staff. Content will focus on sharing stories of client growth and resilience, as well as promoting agency events and services.
Students will have the opportunity to attend team meetings and contribute ideas and feedback on communications initiatives.
Candidate: This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong social media, content creation, and writing skills who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in communications, event coordination, and fundraising within a not-for-profit or social services setting.
