Job Summary
Students will participate in a hands-on, interdisciplinary project focused on the design, development, and implementation of a comprehensive wayfinding and signage system for a designated campus building at UFV. Working collaboratively, students will assess current navigation challenges, research best practices in environmental graphic design, and apply principles of user-centered design to create effective and aesthetically appropriate signage solutions.
Key activities include conducting site analysis, interviewing stakeholders, mapping traffic and user flows, developing prototypes, and presenting design concepts to decision-makers. With external professional supervisors, students will also be responsible for managing the production and installation process, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and institutional branding guidelines.
CANDIDATE: This practicum provides a unique opportunity for a student in the School of Creative Arts to make a lasting impact on campus usability while developing real-world skills in design thinking, project management, communication, and environmental design.
NOTE: DOMESTIC STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE A $1700 STIPEND
