The Reach Gallery Museum is seeking a Practicum Student Assistant to support the delivery of offsite therapeutic arts programming for partner agencies serving unpaid caregivers aged 55+.
About the Role
Working alongside the Therapeutic Arts Instructor and Therapeutic Arts Coordinator, the practicum student will assist instructors in facilitating creative sessions that prioritize process over product, supporting participants in a welcoming, low-pressure, and non-judgmental environment.
This is a learning opportunity for students interested in community arts, art therapy, or socially engaged practice.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with session setup, materials preparation, and cleanup
Support participants during creative activities with encouragement and care
Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and culturally sensitive space
Observe and learn facilitation approaches rooted in trauma-informed practice
Provide general logistical and administrative support as needed
Learning Opportunities
