Job Summary

The Chilliwack Cultural Centre is Chilliwack’s very own home for the arts! The two theatres currently host a well-weighted mix of local, national and international performances, providing thrilling entertainment drawing audiences from the City of Chilliwack and the Fraser Valley. Within this 65,000 square-foot building is the stunning O’Connor Group Art Gallery, and four art and craft studios for creativity to flourish!


The Theatre Tech Intern will work together with the Technical Director to gain valuable on-the-job theatre tech experience assisting with all aspects of providing technical support to shows and events at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Act as technical support for shows and events

  • Meet the technical and show requirements of all facility user groups

  • Assisting the Technical Director with all aspects of show set up, production, and take down

  • Integrating the safe and successful use of equipment as needed for events

  • Ensuring that all safety policies, procedures, and requirements are followed by festival performers and crew

  • Adhering to all Chilliwack Cultural Centre policies and procedures


Candidate: This position is ideal for an individual with intermediate to advanced theatre technical knowledge and skills. The successful candidate will be focused, adaptable, and a team player eager to contribute and learn.
