Reintegration Through Relationship (RTR) Society

RTR Society is a trauma-informed, relationally focused non-profit supporting justice-involved individuals as they transition back into the community. Through education, training, and community-based programs, RTR fosters healing, cultural connection, and safer communities.


Position Overview The Communications Assistant will help share RTR’s mission through clear, compassionate, and creative communication. Working with the Executive Director, the student will support content creation, storytelling, and administrative tasks that highlight RTR’s programs and community impact.


Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and edit blog posts, newsletters, and website updates.

  • Support development of communication materials, program features, and educational content.

  • Assist with resource development, including compiling directories, researching funding opportunities, and preparing grant materials.

  • Update website content and assist with messaging, accessibility, and basic admin tasks (e.g., presentations, event promotion).


Learning Opportunities Students will receive regular mentorship, build a communications portfolio, and learn about trauma-informed messaging, ethical storytelling, and relational justice frameworks.


Ideal Candidate A thoughtful communicator with strong writing skills, social justice interest, and alignment with trauma-informed and relational values. Organized, reflective, adaptable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.


Qualifications 3rd- or 4th-year student in a relevant field.
