Connective is an organization working to create safe, healthy, and inclusive communities for all in BC and the Yukon. For example, it provides short and long-term programs with wraparound supports to help people secure and maintain housing.
This practicum opportunity will involve providing support to Elliot House and Tims Manor residents in areas relating to individual risk in order to ease their transition into the community and assist in their reintegration efforts. The position encourages building professional relationships with clients while being able to assess risk -related behavior.
Candidate: The ideal candidate would be interested in learning about the correctional system, and the services available for incarcerated individuals. Also, being interested in working with previously incarcerated clients and assisting their transition back into the community.
Note: Confidentiality and an enhanced security clearance is required. The clearance will involve the student getting their fingerprints completed by their local police detachment.
