Job Summary
This practicum opportunity offers hands-on experience in program planning, youth engagement, and community outreach. Primary focus is facilitating our after-school programs (Go Girls, Game On & Explorations). Based on interest and agency needs during your practicum; you could help with planning & running agency match events, help with agency fundraisers/events, planning & helping with Spring Break/Summer Programming, facilitate interviews & general office work.
Key Responsibilities:
Co-lead weekly youth group sessions (ages 7–14) and assist in session prep for 8 consecutive weeksÂ
Plan, organize, and support group activities and events
Participate in training related to child safety, trauma-informed care, and inclusive practices
Collaborate with BBBS staff across service areas to support programming needs
Complete necessary documentation and adhere to agency policies and procedures
Ideal Candidate:
Creative, detail-oriented, and highly organized
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Able to work independently, problem-solve, and respond to challenging situations calmly
Reliable, consistent, and able to model positive, responsible behavior
Experience with youth programming, or group facilitation is an asset
Requirements:
Must complete the BBBS volunteer intake process, including an acceptable criminal records check and driver’s abstract
Access to reliable transportation is required for group sessions and events
Must be available for late afternoon/evening programming.
