Job Summary

In this practicum, you will work with the Food Justice Supervisor, be involved with research, support with implementation of food access programming through a food justice lens, support food access programming including Christmas Bureau, Bulk Buy Collective, Client Services, and the general day to day operations of the food justice program and food bank. Knowledge of human rights, food justice and food security concepts, including food sovereignty, and the issues that impact food security or willingness to learn.


Candidate: The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator (written and verbal), be capable of working independently and as a member of a team, take initiative and problem solve when necessary. This role would suit someone with cultural competence, who works well with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds, including Indigenous populations.


Note: Since this practicum involves longer project periods, it is suitable for students enrolled seeking GDS 310/SOC396/GEOG396 course credit.
