Job Summary
The Harrison Festival Society has been producing the world renowned Harrison Festival of the Arts for over 45 years. With a major focus in presenting professional artists with a diverse range of backgrounds. With free music on the beach, indoor hall concerts, an evening of theatre, hands on workshops, a children’s day, a high-end outdoor artisan market, art exhibit and more, the 10 day festival has a little something for everyone!
This practicum placement position is focused on the technical aspects of the festival, mostly in live sound PA setup, lighting and projection. The Technician Assistant will work alongside staff members and artists to present the best quality music as best as possible on schedule.
The Technician Assistant will be a strong member of the technical team in setting up, operating, tearing down of the Festival staging, sound gear, lighting, and other technical aspects of the festival. Attendance during the week prior for setup, the week of the Festival, and week after the festival in July are mandatory.

A self motivated and energetic student that can think on their feet.
Someone who has a passion for presenting high quality professional arts and culture in a small community.
No previous experience with live music is required, but is considered an strong asset.
A willingness to learn and grow a new skill
A willingness to work outdoors regardless of weather.
Able to lift more than 50 lbs on occasion.
