Job Summary

SARA For Women is seeking a practicum student to play a meaningful role in the redevelopment of our organizational website. The website is a critical tool not only for fundraising and community engagement, but also for helping women and children safely find support while fleeing intimate partner violence.

This practicum offers a unique opportunity for a student to contribute to a high-impact, real-world project: helping shape a renewed website that better serves survivors, donors, and the broader community. With guidance and mentorship from the Fundraising & Communications team, the student will help assess, rewrite, and reorganize website content to improve clarity, accessibility, storytelling, and calls to action.

This role is well-suited to a student interested in digital communications, content strategy, nonprofit work, or UX-informed writing- and who is excited to build a strong portfolio piece while doing meaningful community work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We’re looking for a creative thinker who loves bringing ideas to life visually! The ideal candidate is excited about designing and organizing content in a way that’s both user-friendly and visually engaging. You’re comfortable experimenting with website layout, navigation, color palettes, typography, and visual storytelling to create a compelling experience for visitors. Bonus points if you love creating graphics, exploring UX/UI ideas, or just have a knack for making information clear, attractive, and easy to navigate. Above all, you’re curious, collaborative, and eager to learn — this is a chance to put your name on a brand-new website, build a standout design portfolio piece, and help make a real difference in your community.
