Job Summary

The Harrison Festival Society has been producing the world renowned Harrison Festival of the Arts for over 45 years. With a major focus in presenting professional artists with a diverse range of backgrounds. With free music on the beach, indoor hall concerts, an evening of theatre, hands on workshops, a children’s day, a high-end outdoor artisan market, art exhibit and more, the 10 day festival has a little something for everyone!

This practicum placement position has two roles. One with Publicity and the other as a Gallery Liaison.


The Publicity Coordinator role will be required to help distribute the pre-established marketing materials as well as create new content for use on social media and other channels such as radio, print and more. The position will report directly to the General Manager. Scheduling is flexible and much of the work can be completed from home. Attendance at the festival and other dates and times prior in July are required.

The Gallery Coordinator role is a liaison position that connects the incoming artist in the Ranger Station Art Gallery with the Artistic Director as well as General Manager. Assistance with setting up the show and coordinating the opening reception, and gathering marketing material from the artists will also be required.


CANDIDATE:

The HFS is looking for a self motivated and energetic student that can think on their feet and represent the festival as best as possible. Someone who has a passion for presenting high quality professional arts and culture in a small community is a must.
